Step into a magical underworld at the Drach Caves in Mallorca! 🌏✨ These expansive karst caves are famous for their stalactites, underground lake, and hauntingly beautiful classical music concerts in the belly of the earth. Nature’s artistry meets adventure, making it a must-visit if you’re around Manacor.
Start your journey in Porto Cristo, with the Drach Caves conveniently located at Ctra. de les Coves, s/n, 07680 Porto Cristo. Aim to arrive early to beat the crowds—doors open from 10:00 to 17:00 (Mar 17–Oct 31), or 10:30 to 15:30 (other periods), but closed Jan 1 & Dec 25. The entry fee is €28.80.
Begin with the well-marked path that winds through dramatic caverns—be sure to admire the naturally illuminated rock formations. Don’t miss the underground Lake Martel: float on a boat (included in ticket) and soak in the live music performance, a truly mystical experience unique to this cave!
The best photo ops? Snap the vivid reflections over Lake Martel, close-ups of intricate stalactites, and the beautiful contrasts between rock and water—brighter colors after 10:30 AM help your images pop.
Personal tip: Wear sturdy, non-slip shoes—the floors get damp! Also, bring a light jacket, as it’s cool underground compared to the Mallorca sun. Take your time; rushing through skips the small details like delicate cave flowers and glowing mineral veins.
Keep an eye out for large groups, as some sections can get crowded. Perfect for anyone craving outdoor natural beauty and a one-of-a-kind underground adventure.
