Kathmandu Durbar Square

Kathmandu Durbar Square is a mesmerizing historical site that showcases Nepal’s rich cultural and architectural heritage. Surrounded by ancient temples, palaces, and courtyards, it offers a glimpse into the Malla and Shah dynasties. The intricate wood carvings and statues are awe-inspiring, and the presence of the Living Goddess, Kumari, adds to its uniqueness. Though some parts are still under restoration after the 2015 earthquake, the site remains a must-visit for history lovers.

20240615 morning: 1. The Bodaha Buddha Tower (Boudhanath Stupa) is a landmark building in Kathmandu, Nepal's capital. It is one of the world's largest round Buddha towers and world cultural heritage. It is 38 meters high and 100 meters in diameter. It is rumored to be built by King Shiva • Dewa of the Lichawei Dynasty in the 6th century. It is an important spiritual totem of Tibetan Buddhism and Buddhists in Nepal. It is said that there is Sheli of Kaye Buddha in the tower. It is an important spiritual totem in Mahayana Buddhism. Because the tower is painted with a bright eye, also known as the big eye tower, it is said that the tower was built in the past when it was drought, and the craftsmen took dew and mud. Therefore, also known as the Dew Pearl Tower, every pilgrimage season, Bhutan, Sikkim, China's Tibetan Buddhists will gather in this pilgrimage, so common Chinese logo. The scenic spot is divided into Buddha Pagoda, Lianshizu Temple, and most of the shops. It is a good place for viewing photography, humanistic learning, worshiping Buddha and praying, shopping, and parent-child walking. When praying around the tower, you must go around 3 times clockwise. ① Address: Kathmandu, Nepal Circle Kathmandu② Transportation: Direct bus access, difficult to stop driving ③ peak season: no ④ duration: 2 hours ⑤ fare: 400 rupees (22.2 yuan) 2. The big Buddha tower contains four floors and five floors of tower body, specific: ① Tower 1st floor: There are small Buddhas, prayer wheels between the entrance and exit, Bells and other Buddha instruments ② tower base 2: A incense burner stands at the front of the pagoda, which is very similar to the spiritual tower in Tibetan Buddhism (the utensils for storing the body of the monks). This layer needs to take off your shoes, and the ground may be hot in summer. This layer can also circle the tower. The new one can enjoy the street view of the tower. The third and fourth floors of the tower are prohibited. There is no landscape in the two floors. The four corners of the tower courtyard: because the courtyard wall of the tower is round, the tower is similar to a cross (12 corners), so there are four corners on the first floor of the tower. There are whitewash pools (painting the pool of pigments used in the white tower body, there is a small statue on the well next to it), green plants (2 places, 1 green plant edges are surrounded by dense stainless steel bowls, each bowl is filled with 2 flowers, orange and yellow 2 colors; another green plant under the small Buddha statue), Small tower ⑤ one layer of tower body: semicircular structure of tower foundation, representing water, also said to create a life of the womb, four sides embedded in the golden Buddha, the internal supply of five parties. A circle on the ground is a prayer wheel. Visitors can turn a circle clockwise to pray for blessings. The second layer of the tower body: square structure, representing the land, four squares with 1 eyebrows, known as "eyes", symbolizing the three layers of the tower body: triangular structure, representing fire, divided into 13 levels, the cross-sectional area is decreasing. Cone-shaped, symbolizing the 13 rows of Bodhisattva from cause to effect ⑧ four layers of the tower body: umbrella structure, representing the wind, hanging the small clock, the breeze will make a sound, symbolizing the five layers of the tower body: spiral structure, representing the essence of life, composed of water, earth, fire, wind composed of all things, In Buddhism, it is called the "Four Great Hehe" ⑩ Colorful ribbon: multiple, connected from the top of the tower to the ground, shaped like a colorful scripture, in the order of blue, white, red, green, yellow...
