It has an old history and is said to have been built during the Nara period. The guardian dog of this shrine has an atmosphere that seems to jump on his head. The hafu of the hall of worship was also beautifully made.

The autumn leaves were colored, and the background with Rokuhachimangu was very good. The precincts were large, and while the trees 々 were overgrown, there was also a monument to Basho Matsuo.

    Yamagata old shrine

    Original Text

It is an old shrine in Yamagata city. It is said that it was founded during the Tenpyo era, and in fact it has a history of nearly 1300 years. It seems that "kunugi" leads to "bitterness"

    Original Text

It is a temple of the Tendai sect with a history of more than 1300 years and is also the 8th temple of the Mogami Sacred Ground. The ancestor is a missionary master and has a statue outside. The principal image is the statue of Gyoki Bodhisattva. In the back of the premises, "Fudo Myoo Sacred Ground No. 1 Sofukuin" is also built. Before that, the old tree of Takano Tsubo given by Yoshimune Tokugawa was well maintained. The name of the temple is said to be derived from the planting of six cherry trees. "Kunugi" = It's a swanky word called "Bitterness".
