The riverside textile mills have mills and gardens to display machinery for cotton production. Founded in 1784 by Samuel Gregg, one of the best preserved textile mills of the Industrial Revolution, the textile mills were expanded and updated over the past few decades to become one of the world’s largest cotton manufacturers in the 19th century.
