Great Cycling Route
If you’re coming from Tokyo you’ll need a bike bag if you’re taking the train. There are repair and maintenance facilities near the station and along the route if you have a breakdown or puncture. The...
After staying in Tsukuba overnight this was my route to Mito city. It is little known outside of Japan, it starts in Tsuchiura and finishes at Iwase and point to point it is around 40kms one way. Ther...
〜 Aim for Mt. Tsukuba! Rinrin Cycling Road 〜 From Tsuchiura Station on the Tokiwa Line to Iwase Station on the Mito Line, it looked small in the distance when running from Tsuchiura, a cycling road of about 40 km on the entire line using the tracks of the former Tsukuba Railway. Mt. Tsukuba grows bigger and bigger. The sense of accomplishment that you can reach Mt. Tsukuba by rowing with your own feet is quite good. The course is well maintained and easy to run. There are some places to go to the general road, but there are many maps, and basically it is ... to get lost on one road.
Blooming on the site of the abandoned line platform

Rinrin Road itself is dedicated to cycling, but you can also use the parking lot of Fujisawa rest area to see the nearby cherry blossom trees. I happened to see a row of cherry blossom trees while driving near Tsuchiura, so I stopped by. There are cherry blossoms on the abandoned line platform and it is a place of relaxation. The roots of the cherry blossoms break down the block of the home and you can feel the power of nature.
