Church of Spili

Nice view

You’ll get a nice view over the countryside from this church. The place is a bit strange, looking very new and empty. Interesting architecture but you feel a bit like in a cartoon movie.

Modern church

It was closed when I visited, unfortunately. It is a modern church, but worth to visit if you are passing by. Nice views over the valley.

An ordinary Greek church

At the entry of Rethymno you can spot this huge complex. It impresses with it's megalomaniac size for a mountainous village. Above tthat pretty ordinary construction.

Amazing

If you fancy a pleasant drive to Spilli then the Church is well worth a visit, then go into the centre to to see the lion fountains and have a coffee

Beautiful building in a stunning location
