Newcastle Castle

Newcastle's English name is Newcastle, which means new castle. Named for the castle in the city. Newcastle Castle is one of the best preserved Romanesque stone castles in the UK, located near the train station. The castle was originally a civil structure, and was later transformed into a stone castle in the twelfth century under Henry II, hence the name of the new castle, NewCastle. The castle is not big, but it has a long history and is worth visiting.
