Whirlpool Road, located under the Damingmen Bridge in Mingmen Strait, Tokushima Prefecture, Japan, is a nearly 500-meter vortex road and observation deck. When I came to Tokushima, I was most looking forward to going to one of the three major vortexes in the world, “Mingmen Whirlpool”. Unfortunately, when I checked the forecast time of the vortex, I already knew that the chance of reaching the tide was not big, so I decided not to sit and watch the tide ⛴️, only go to the Damingmen Bridge, the bridge  has a “Whirl Way” on the surface. From 45 feet high underground glass, overlooking the vortex at your feet. There are also observation decks at different angles near the bridge, ladders, and today the blue sky is equipped with a white bridge, which is superb.

Whirlpool Road, how to say it, is the viewing passage on the lower floor of the Mingmen Bridge that has been commented before, because the bridge is a cable-stayed iron bridge, so the viewing road is also an iron bridge, and the car will sway, leaking air and rain, you have to find a similar weather to go~ This bridge also has insinuation in the fire shadow, Mingren, they escorted the bridge to repair the bridge, it seems that in Japanese can be replaced by the Mingmen Bridge.

The Mingmen Bridge is mainly for tide watching, so before going, be sure to go to the official website to check the highest and lowest time of the tide every day, and see the best within more than an hour before and after. The vortex road is in the Mingmen Bridge, through the glass floor below the bridge can see the vortex, you can also see the scenery of the Mingmen Strait at the observation deck. There, you can take a bus from Tokushima, Nagomen Railway Station, or take a high-speed bus from Osaka Kobe Kyoto to Nagomen Park Station. You can only take the bus to Tokushima or Nagomen City on the return trip before transferring. There are not many buses, one hour a day, and the time is optimistic. The ticket check indicates that there will be gifts (postcards) for foreigners. However, the glass floor under the bridge is not large, and it is not necessary to see the vortex, or take a boat at the nearby tide boat dock to see it more clearly.

Take the train to Mingmen Station, then you can see the Bus Station when you leave the station. There is a direct bus to Mingmen Strait, the line and timetable are in Chinese, which is very convenient. Unfortunately, the time is not accurate, because the winter vortex is closed at 17:00, not at 18:00 in spring and summer. When it arrives, it is just 10 minutes away. I can only take a few photos nearby to make up for it.

The vortex Road is in the Mingmen Bridge. Every day, there will be the best time to see the vortex. The official website and the entrance are announced. We took a bus for an hour from Tokushima JR Station and went in a hurry, but we didn't see a complete vortex. But the scenery of Mingmen Bridge is very good, and it is OK to not see the big whirlpool.
