    Stone Bridges of Nagasaki

The stone bridges of Nagasaki are picturesque. Resist the urge to leave after seeing Megane Brodge and walk further up the river. You will not be disappointed.

    Stone bridge

It is one of stone bridges over Nakajima River. The bridge is a reconstruction after the flood in 1982, but it seems to be exactly like an original one.

Momokei Bashi bridge, one of the Nakajima gawa River Ishibashi groups in Nagasaki

    Original Text

It is a stone bridge over which a tributary merges with the Nakajima River. A long time ago, in order to solve the inconvenience of transportation for residents on both banks, a monk named Boi collected money and built it in 1679. It is said that it was named Momokei Bridge because there were many peach trees on the riverbank at that time. It was half destroyed during the Nagasaki flood in 1982, but it has been restored and has reached the present day. The peach blossoms planted by the local 々 were in bloom. Vehicles are available.

Active の Cute い Stone Bridge

    Original Text

It is a bridge that is still working hard, which is cute and retains its old-fashioned appearance. The cobblestones on the bridge are also quaint. If you go down the river from the stone steps next to the nearby hall and cross the stepping stone, you will see a different Momokei Bridge. You can see the arch of Chinzei Bridge in the back and it's nice.

Why don't you take a walk along the Nakajima River?

    Original Text

Do you know "Taokei Bridge"? It is a stone bridge over the Nakajima River and is further upstream from Meganebashi. Many stone bridges are built on this Nakajima River, and you can see a quaint scene, and this bridge was one of them destroyed by a major flood, but it has been restored. Why don't you take a walk through the Ishibashi group where pure water flows from the upstream of the Nakajima River and spans it?
