Geisha house in Mitarai - used to house 100 geisha

This was a geisha house (or oiran house - as geisha was a term used mainly in Kyoto) that used to house 100 geisha during the Edo and early Meiji period. Not to be mistaken as a brothel - geisha were ...

    A little psychic spot?

    Original Text

It is also a place where scary legends remain, probably because it is a building where prostitutes were. It seems that there are several dramas with sadness and joy 々. It seems that this area prospered as a harbor waiting for the tide, so there are many facilities created for these sailors to spend 々, and this is one of them.

I drove from Hiroshima city to GW. I am very grateful for opening the historic and valuable building for free. The toilet was clean and helpful.

    Middle of Japanese heritage

    Original Text

Mitarai is a Japanese heritage area. I didn't know that there was a prostitute on Kure Island. It was good to deepen my understanding of the area while learning sad history.

The site of a tea house in the Edo period when the port of Mitarai flourished

    Original Text

It is a teahouse ruin where a prostitute was in the Edo period when the port of Mitarai prospered, and it is open to the public for free. When you take off your shoes and go up, there is a small stage on the right, and opposite it is an old photograph of prostitutes. You can also go through the hall to the courtyard. The building was reinforced with steel.
