An ancient mountain castle in Saga Prefecture on the prefectural border with Fukuoka Prefecture. It has been selected as one of the 100 best castles to continue. You can drive to the grass ski resort and it is a short walk to the top. Be careful as the water gate side is being restored due to the typhoon
The castle ruins are near the top of Mount Kiyama. Arrived from the trailhead at the foot of the mountain by climbing 1 less than an hour. It's not a steep mountain road, but you can climb while enjoying a forest bath in the mood of hiking. 2020 Year 3 As of March, there were some places where heavy rains were affected or rough on the mountain trails along the way, but it is not so hindering climbing.
It is a visit by car. There is no parking lot near the top, so you can park on the road. There is no entrance fee, or it is on the mountain. You can enjoy a very good view. You can also check the plane horizontally. There is spring water near the ruins of the water gate. You can stamp it at the Kiyama Town Hall and get a pamphlet.
I went there for the first time as part of a tour of Japan's Top 100 Castles. It seems difficult to go to the ruins of the castle, so I went to the Kiyama Town Municipal Hall to get a stamp. There was also a model of the castle in a corner of the lobby. The stamp was in the office and was very kind.
