Huangguangshan Foguang Temple

Huangguangshan Foguang Temple is located in the northwest of Huilai County, Guangdong Province, 17.3 kilometers away from the county, in the mountains between Luyang Village and Quxi Village in Xixi Town. Formerly known as "Huangtenggang", it was once called "Huangtinggang", and later renamed "Huangguang Mountain". In the third year of Xuantong’s reign (1911) in the Qing Dynasty (1911), the inscription on the stele was “Huangguang Mountain”, and it was renamed “Huangguang Mountain Foguang Temple” in 1997. In 2004, Foguang Temple was rated as "Civilized and Religious Activities Site of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee" by the Provincial Ethnic and Religious Committee. In October 2005, at the invitation of Huilai County Buddhist Association and the monks in the temple, the abbot of Nanhua Temple, Chuan Zhengda, officially served as the host of Foguang Temple.
