Waʻahila Ridge State Recreation Area

It has very lush plants, towering trees everywhere, and many small animals inhabiting it, which added a lot of fun to our journey, and it is really lush with birds and flowers

This is one of the many hiking routes on Hu'ou Island. Less than five kilometers of road, attracting many people to come and play on foot. The plants are particularly lush, there are many trees that you don't know, and the scenery is very good.

Waahila Ridge Trail is located in Honolulu, Oahu Island, Hawaii. It is about 4.2 kilometers long in one way. The main trail is rolling mountains. It is difficult and dangerous for ordinary hikers. Waahila Ridge is a part of the Koolau range, which is one of the two main mountains on Oahu Island. It is northwest to southeast. Waahila Ridge is southwest to northeast. Waahila Ridge Trail has Manoa Valley on the left and Palolo Valley on the right. The peak at the end is Mount Olympus, where you can enjoy not only the urban landscape of Honolulu, but also the beautiful scenery of Windward Coast, such as Kailua. During the ripening season of strawberry guava, you can also enjoy the pleasure of hiking while enjoying the beautiful scenery and picking wild fruits to satisfy your hunger.

The Wa'ahila Ridge trail is a state trail so it's well traveled and easy to follow with a clear path and signs, perfect for travelers and vacationers. There are a few steep areas and some rock scrambling, but no big deal. You can't go on a hike and have NO challenges...At a point the Ridge will split so stay to the right to reach the Wa'ahila Summit ridge line. If you wish to continue and crest the summit ridge you can make your way to the well known Mount Olympus, but this trail is very narrow and somewhat overgrown so it's up to you if you wish to make the extra hike to the Olympus summit...if you choose to do this second part of the hike watch your footing...this no longer is a state run trail and you're on your own.
