Panoramic view
If you go up the path beside the Dutch well, you can reach this park, which is on the top of a hill. There is an observatory, and you can enjoy a panoramic view of Hirado strait.
I stayed at Hatamatsutei next to Sakikata Park, so I took a walk in this park from the morning. In this park, there is a Francis Xavier Monument and a tomb of Azusa Miura, and from the observation deck, you can overlook Hirado Ohashi Bridge, Hirado Castle, Kohashi, the three-storied pagoda of Saikyoji Temple, and the Hirado Xavier Memorial Church. Poi recommended for photography It's a to.
The area that climbed the Dutch is Sakikata Park. There are many spots such as a small playground for children with playset, the Xavier Monument, and the tomb of Ashiri Miura, and the scenery overlooking from the Tomi Observatory is superb.
It is a park with a view of the sea such as Hirado Port, the houses lined up on the coastal street and the Dutch Shokan street 々, and Hirado Castle in the distance. It spread to the back of the town of Hirado, and when it went up, young people who seemed to be college students or high school students were preparing for barbecue. Not only the multipurpose square, but also walking spots such as playsets, observation decks, and Francis Xavier's monument. It's a place I would like to go up if I have time, but be careful as the slope is relatively steep.
Do you know "Sakakata Park"? It is a hill with a panoramic view of the cityscape of Hirado on Hirado Island, and a famous park with cherry blossoms and Hirado azaleas. There are also monuments such as the Franciscan Xavier Monument and the Meotozuka of Azusa Miura (William Adams), who died in Hirado as a diplomatic adviser to Ieyasu Tokugawa.
