Grotto 16

Wencheng Emperor, who succeeded the "Taiwu Destroyed Buddha", vigorously restored the Buddha's law, built temples and temples on a large scale, and asked the high monks to host the design and construction of the Buddha caves in Wuzhou Mountain, opening the historical process of Yungang Grottoes. It can be said that without Wen Chengdi, there is no Yungang Grottoes today. 2. On the east side of the gate of the 16th Grottoe, there is an attached cave, numbered "the 16-1 cave". In the three-story statue of the north wall of the cave, N large caves can be clearly seen, which is not a natural weathering collapse, but a naked robbery in the first half of the 20th century. 3. The Buddha statues of Yungang Grottoes are mostly in the style of Western keys and dharma. The 16th cave is unique, the face and costume shape of the Buddha has the characteristics of the Central Plains and Northern peoples, with a high head, beautiful and handsome, and a magnificent appearance. Western tourists have called it a "beautiful man".
