This was my first visit to this park on February 18, 2020 in part to see if there were any blossoming wild flowers. While this was not considered a good year for blooms, I found a number of small clusters of flowers on a hike to inspiration point and abundant quiet. I also hiked "the slot" and I would recommend that as well. I would also recommend driving the "Triangle" for the dramatic mountain and valley views sprinkled with Joshua Trees, Cholla and Barrell cactus. Be sure to stop at the County of San Diego library to tap the free internet, sit on the balcony and soak in the views at sunset. Also, I strongly recommend driving S22 (Borrego Salton Seaway) from Salton City to Borrego Springs.

I think the most in the Anshapolego Desert State Park is caterpillars, and each one is eaten round and round, I am afraid, only dare to look at from afar, my husband actually used a stick to pick and play.
