Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape

Gobustan National Rock Park, located 50 miles west of Baku, Azerbaijan, about an hour drive away. It was part of the Shamaki district from 1930 to 1943 and from 1960 to 1990, and was renamed when it was restored in 1990.

The sun is hot, the wind is very strong, and I don't know where I am under the stars. I don't know whether I am modern or future. It seems that the sound of ancient people on the cliffs is faintly heard in my ears.

About 50 km from Baku, Gobustan has a rock culture and art museum, and is as well worth a visit as a local mud volcano geological wonder. The site of the mud volcano is like the Martian surface introduced in the documentary, and the small mound can be immediately lit with a lighter, like sitting on a gunpowder barrel, the large mud pool is bubbling and it seems to boil immediately. The small mounds emit a smelly hydrogen sulfide-like smell from time to time, making people cough. Energy from the ground creates a fantastic view of the mud volcano in Azerbaijan.
