The Wallace Tower does seem incongruous as it sits unhappily (?) in one of the major shopping streets of Ayr. Good photo op.

its just there in your face

it just grows out of the road or pavement and looks fabulous. A real wow as an architectural gem. Well worth seeing.

Important monument that dominates the High Street

Impressive tower right in the middle of Ayr, unfortunately you cannot go up it at the moment, so take a minute to look up and admire this monument to William Wallace

Wallace Tower on High Street

The Wallace Tower is an imposing structure on the High Street in Ayr. It was rebuilt after the original was burnt down. Well worth a visit if you are in Ayr.
