Ta Som

Tasun Temple is a small temple located on the east side of Longpan Shui Pond, surrounded by Kapok trees (that is, snake trees). Although it is seriously damaged, the scene of the east pagoda gate entangled with ancient trees and the vivid reliefs of goddesses in the temple are still impressive. deep impression. Regarding the origin of this temple, some people say that it was built by Jayavarman VII to worship the general Tasun who defeated the Cham invasion, and some people say that it was to commemorate the king's father, but it is now unknown. There is an entrance on the east and west sides of the temple, which is a cross-shaped stone pagoda gate. The stone pagoda is engraved with Buddha faces on all sides, similar to the four-faced Buddha on the gate of Tongwang City. Among them, the porch of the east entrance is wrapped by huge tree roots, as if being swallowed, which is a major feature of Tasun Temple. At the west entrance, you can see the carvings of figures above the doorway. Some people speculate that it is General Tarson. Entering from the pagoda gate, there is a monastery composed of laterite and sandstone corridors. There are two Tibetan scripture pavilions in the cluttered stone piles. In the center is a cross-shaped main tower with four arches. Although the central area of the temple is dilapidated, lifelike reliefs can be seen on the walls and corridors. These goddesses with long earlobes have beautiful images, different postures and rich expressions, which are worth watching.
